This mattress is the least expensive option that fits on the Beddinge futon frame sold at IKEA. It is large enough for two relatively small adults to sleep comfortably on it every night, without invading each other’s space. The mattress is relatively firm, but soft enough that you won’t wake up feeling sore or cramped.
In my opinion, the Lovas mattress is a great value for your money, because you get a thick foam layer that prevents you from feeling the bars of the futon frame beneath you. It’s so thick that you can sleep on it every night and wake up feeling refreshed. The grey color scheme of the mattress isn’t very attractive, but you’ll be covering it with sheets, so you won’t be a problem in the long run.
Two major pros of this mattress are the price (only $90) and the large variety of sheets, covers, and futon frames that IKEA has created to go along with it. Because this mattress was specifically designed for a particular variety of futon, you’ll be able to select a set of coordinating accessories and furniture really easily and inexpensively.
On the other hand, you’ll need to bring the mattress home yourself if you don’t want to pay exorbitant shipping costs, and it can be hard to find an IKEA near to your house–so those are two cons of this mattress.
