I used to sell Sealy and Tempurpedic mattresses and so I had plenty of chances to try the product myself. When it came time to buy our own queen-sized mattress, my mind was already made up as to which would choose. With a firm support system and a soft pillowtop, we chose the latex core Whistlewood from Spring Free Sealy. We’ve had it for 2 years now and it has not deteriorated one bit in the pillowtop, and I weigh 275 pounds!

There are no spring as the name suggests, so there is no squeaking or compressing of springs to wear a “notch” where my body rests night after night. One would assume that because it is a latex mattress, it would sleep hotter than conventional counterpart. We sleep in Arizona heat and find no difference in temperature from our old spring model mattress. The Sealy Posturepedic SpringFree mattress is very comfortable, especially in the summertime.

I have the latex core version, bought by my husband who didn’t think of my latex allergy at the time, but I have had no problems at all with the mattress, which I keep a mattress pad over.

I am a very restless sleeper, and I don’t wake my husband up nearly as often as I used to, as the bed does not wobble or shift when I move. It is also very supportive of my back and I believe I have had fewer back pains, and more restful sleep while using the mattress.

I have the Ultra Plush version of the mattress, but I would rate the mattress itself as of medium firmness, neither very hard or very soft, but it does seem that I sink in after a couple of hours.

One of the selling points that I based my decision on was the idea that this particular mattress would last longer then other mattresses, and after having it for about six months there is no observable wear or difference. The only complaints I have regarding this mattress are its strange smell and the fact that it seems very heavy to flip over.
