Pros
- Good Firm Mattress Great durability and longevity
Cons
- Initial price is expensive Overall height of the mattress make for a tall bed
This queen size mattress from Simmons is the second we have owned in our marriage. If the quality is as good as I think it is it may also be the last. It is a coil spring mattress but seems to have enough give that your weight is distributed evenly throughout the mattress without being so squishy that your back is killing you by morning.
Others may call this mattress very firm and in fact it was the second firmist in the store when we were trying them out. Our preference however is not to have an overly cushioned mattress. In our case we purchased just the mattress without the box spring (we used the one from the previous mattress) and have had no problems.
The only thing I would mention is that this mattress seems to have a greater width than anything I have slept on previously. The end result is that it does require some effort to get to the bed at night. That said in the morning it is also nicer because you do not have to crawl yourself out of the bedroom.
We had gotten over 15 years of use out of our first Simmons mattress. While we have had this one for only six months I expect that this mattress will last as least as long as the last.
